Adding a second account

New member | Level 2

My spouse has a Dropbox account installed (under her email address) on our MacBook Pro laptop.  I would like to have my own personal Dropbox account under my email address, but can't figure out how to do it.  One of the early steps in getting a Dropbox account is to "Install Dropbox".  Obviously we already have Dropbox installed, so my attempts to do this grinds to a halt at that step  Does anyone know how (detailed instructions) I may go about doing this?

Dropboxer

Hi @David Spieker, thanks for joining the Community!

You can unlink the Dropbox desktop application from the current account and then sign into an existing account from there.

If you still need to register the account first, you can do so on this page, though if your browser is already signed into Dropbox, you would need to sign out first.

Bear in mind that it isn’t possible to have two personal Dropbox accounts syncing at the same time in the Dropbox desktop application. This is only possible with paired personal and work accounts using these steps.

Hope this helps to clarify matters!
