Basic plan dropbox says there is not enough space, where there is plenty

New member | Level 2

I use the basic plan, limited to 2 GB.  Enough for my needs.

My files are 1.3 GB.  Still, the system won't let me share more files (without upgrading, of course, which I don't want to do now).

Hints?  Help?

Thanks

If you're a member of any shared folders, those take up space in your account as well. If you try to join a shared folder that's larger than the remaining space in your account, you won't be able to because you don't have enough space.

What does dropbox show for your space usage on your Plan page? If you're trying to join a share, how large is it?

This seems like a promising direction to check.

In the meanwhile, many thanks for the quick response!
