Can I put my account on hold while in prison?

Explorer | Level 3

Is there a way to put a hold on my account while in prison? Is there a inactivity fee... I cannot access and just want to preserve data.

Hey @Md319, you’d have to sign in on one of our platforms, or have file activity on them at any point within the previous 12 months, in order for us to consider your account active.

If there's no activity on your Dropbox account for an extended period of time, we’ll notify you in an email, however kindly note that this is an automated process.

I hope that this clarifies matters for you to a certain extent & please feel free to touch-base with me here should you have any follow-up inquiries or thoughts. Thanks!

Thank you for the reply,

I do not understand what will happen after you send notifications to my email to which I will no access.  I will not be able to  respond.  Can I ensure my info is not deleted?

Thanks

After one year of inactivity, Dropbox will notify you that the account has been inactive. If you don't sign-in to your account, it will eventually be deleted along with all the data that it contains.

Can I pay a onetime fee just to prevent deletion over the next 10 years?

I’m afraid that this isn’t an option at the moment @Md319. While I can now make a note of the request in my report internally, if you’re unable to access your Dropbox account for those 10 years, then we’ll mark it as inactive on our system & remove the content.

Hopefully this brings a bit more clarity, however please let me know if you have any follow-up questions. Thanks again for keeping in touch here!
