Can I recover the files in a closed Dropbox account for a fee?

I was a member of Dropbox a few years ago and my account was deleted without my knowledge and without consent. Dropbox held precious photos and back up files for work. I contacted customer services to no avail. 

Surely the files could be recovered for a fee?

Hey @Jojo2019, let’s see what we can do here. 
 
It looks like your account has been closed because of inactivity. If possible, we’ll be able to recover your account on our end without an extra fee. 
 
As I understand that you’d still need assistance on that, I ran a search on my end & I could see that you’re in direct contact with my specialized colleague regarding that on your open support ticket. I’ve made a note of your comments here & increased your support priority internally to help expedite matters. 
 
I could see that they’re awaiting your reply Jo; have you received their last message?
