Can't connect to Dropbox / Gmail problem

Hi there

Since the covid breakout, I was sent back to my country from across the world. Problem is that Gmail doesn't allow me to connect even though I know my user and my password and I'm using the same computer and same cellphone.

Same problem appeared on Dropbox. I have my account AND password, and I use the same computer but it did send an email to my Gmail account which I can't retrieve. Yes I should have linked it with my cellphone number and I will if I get it back.

So I just abandonned the idea of using my gmail after a few months of frustrations and despair, untill I get back in my working country on my very Network and/or be able to use my original phone number.

Bu now is there a way to contact Dropbox to keep my account or better, to be able to use it again and not loose all my files?

Hi @William G, thanks for posting today!


Do you have any device currently logged into your Dropbox account? If you have a desktop machine, clicking the globe icon in the Dropbox app will load and sign into the site. A connected mobile device also allows you to login to the desktop app.


Generally, access to your email address is needed to verify your account, so I'd recommend checking with Gmail as to why you're not able to login on their system.
