Hi,

 

I haven’t been able to login to dropbox from my PC for weeks. I tried Chrome, Edge, deleting cookies, restarting etc.

Every time I fill in my details and press enter or “login” it simply reloads the login page. No error message, it just reloads the page without logging me in. This has been going for weeks, I contacted customer support twice via email, still no answer. I am now using my friend’s iPad to post this, because obviously, I can’t even post in this community without being able to login.

 

What can I do? I urgently need to access my files from my PC.

Thank you, Walter.

I think that’s it. I do have Bitdefender and have noticed that it is sometimes a little eager to block things. I did try switching it off when accessing the site, but I hadn’t previously added the login page to bitdefender’s exclusions. I think that’s what does the trick. 👌🏼

If you try an incognito mode on one of your browsers, are you still unable to log in? 

Could you try sending me a screenshot of the log in page? What do you see there? (Make sure any personal info isn't visible).

Let me know, and we'll take it from there.

Hi @Lori, thanks for your reply.

 

It doesn’t make a difference if it is incognito or not, other than for a fraction of a second it flashed “forbidden” at the top of the screen when I pressed “sign in”.

 

This is the screen I get transferred to/which keeps reloading:

Hi @Aoe4c, there is a possibility that a proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router measure could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains.

Could you try temporary disabling all of them to see if this helps?

What settings would I need to check? Switching off firewalls and Anti virus/spam/ad software doesn’t seem to do it.

I have never changed anything for VPN/proxy.

There has to be some setting on your machine, or within the browser, which could be preventing the site from connecting. 

Is this a company-managed device, or a personal machine?

Hi @Aoe4c, I hope you're doing well!

It appears that the website is being restricted. The fact that you can connect via your iPad device is proof of this.

Have you tried updating your browser?

 

If it is fully updated, I can suggest reinstalling the browser or restoring it to its default settings to see if that helps.
 
Should the issue persist after trying the above, please let me know which version of the browser you have installed.

Hey @Aoe4c - sorry to jump in here.

We had some similar reports in the recent past and it seems that BitDefender was the culprit. 

Do you happen to be running this on the affected machine?
