Can you help me regain access to a closed account?

Hey there, I am trying to re-activate my dropbox account, which has been closed due to inactivity.  Unfortunately, I forgot my password and I am not able to sign in with my old account. Does anyone know how can I recover my account? Many thanks.

Hey there Mirela, how are you today?

From what I understand you received an email about an inactive account - correct me if I'm wrong please. 

Did you use the email address that this email reached you at to begin with?

If, by any chance, you don't remember your password, or you need to reset it, you can visit our website here:  https://www.dropbox.com/forgot

Please enter the email address associated with your Dropbox account. You'll then receive an email from no-reply@dropbox.com with the steps to reset your password.

If you don't receive an email after a reasonable amount of time, please check your spam folder to ensure that no-reply@dropbox.com is not blocked. You can also add no-reply@dropbox.com to your address book and request another password reset email.

Hi Walter,

Thank you for your reply and sorry for my late response.

I tried to login using my old email address, but I also forgot my password. When I tried to reset my password, I received the following message: 'If a Dropbox account exists for [email address removed by moderator], an e-mail will be sent with further instructions.' But I've never received any email (I've checked also the spam folder). 

Is there any possibility to recover my old account, if my email address has been deleted?

Sorry to hear about this Mirela - so to get things straight, you don't have access to that account's email address and password at all, right?

At Dropbox, the security of your data is our highest priority while we use your email address to verify your ownership of a Dropbox account. 

At this point, if you can’t sign in to your old email at all, you'll need to contact your email service provider to see if they can help you unlock that old email account to regain access to your old Dropbox account.

If you need further assistance with this, you can always log a ticket with our team through our Official Channels so we can help with all of our tools available (this is the best way to address account specific inquiries).

Hi Walter,

I have access to the email address, but I had a different password for my dropbox account and I forgot that one. I tried to reset it by entering the email address associated with my Dropbox account, but I'm not receiving any email from no-reply@dropbox.com.  I think this is because my account has been deactivated.

Should I raise a ticket for the above situation?

Or there is nothing I can do about this?
