Cannot open Word document on dropbox...says "need commercial 365"...

New member | Level 2

Hi

I have been using dropbox for months and have saved and opened Word Doc Files without issue. now, it shows a prompt which states i need a commerical Office 365 Subscription to open it. I have never needed this prior to now. I have called Microsoft and they showed me i am able to open the files on the desktop but cannot through Dropbox and asked that i reach out to Dropbox.

Do you have a Dropbox Business account? If so, you will need an enterprise Microsoft account with a license that allows editing in Office Online (Business, Business Premium, ProPlus, E3, E4, or E5). This is a requirement of Microsoft's.
