Didn't Receive Referral Space - Shows "Waiting For Install"

Hi, I sent a request to my sister to get more space in my Dropbox. She has accepted the request, created an account, downloaded the app into her phone and signed in with the same email address that I sent the request to. However, in my end it shows "waiting for install". What must have gone wrong?

Hi there @Pabasara, I hope you're well today!

 

To complete the referral, they would need to install the desktop app and sign into their account there rather than the mobile app.

 

Can you ask them to install the desktop app on their computer?

Hi Daphne, actually I'm trying to contact support to get a referral space. That person has already installed the desktop app and I didn't receive the extra space.

Hi there @Andres Suarez T, thanks for giving me a nudge here!

 

Can you let me know what the status the referral shows when you check from your Plan tab here?

 

You'll see the referral entries under "Earn more space", and you can extend the view by clicking the "View more earned space" towards the bottom of the table.

The status the referral shows "Invitation sent".

I was connected with her (the referral) when she clicks in the invitation email.

Thanks for getting back to me here @Andres Suarez T!

 

It seems that your comment got caught up in our spam filter by mistake there, apologies for that.

 

If the status is showing "Invitation sent" then it would suggest that they didn't sign up for Dropbox yet.

 

Is it possible that they signed up with a different email address than the one you sent the referral to?

Hi @Daphne , thanks for the response. I Hope this reply reach to you.

She Inmediatly created an account, she signed up in Dropbox with the email address of the invitation, the same one I sent her in the referral invitation.

In this moment she is using her Dropbox account normally with that email address.

yes, they signed into the desktop app with that email address and verified too.

The referral status continues to appear as "invitation sent".
