Does downgrade from Business to Personal lose files and connections?

New member | Level 2

I'm new to dropbox and I was asked to set up a Dropbox for a remote team to share files for a project. I set up Dropbox for Business on a trial as I didn't quite know what was best. Turns out the don't need the Business facility and it is too expensive for us to go to this plan when the trial ends. I am the Team Admin - if I cancel the Dropbox for Business, what actually happens? Will we lose the shared files? Or will the team no longer have access? The total size of the shared folder is less than 1GB. Ideally, I'd just want them to still have access as they have done and if it gets too big then we can make a choice on a plan.

The account will be converted to a Free Team. Refer to the following help article for more information:

Thanks for the reply Rich but it seems like Free Teams only apply to those created before Feb 2018. I just went to cancel Dropbox Business and it says my team will be disbanded and all members will lose access to the team files and folders. Not sure if there is anything I can do to maintain the files and keep everyone's access the same?
