Dropbox Deleted data After Changing Email Password

New member | Level 2

I need assistance regarding my dropbox account, I have reset my email account password after forgeting the password, but upon login with the new password all my folders are gone and the account appears to be a new account.

No multiple accounts, just one email ID. All the data is lost .
How do i recover this?

Dropbox wouldn't delete your files if all you did was change your password. It would, however, delete your account if it was idle for more than a year. When was the last time you signed in to your account? If the account has been idle, it's possible you signed into a new, empty account.

Is there anyway to recover the data ?

Hi @ns-20410, it sounds like the account was inactive for over 12 months, according to what you're describing. Emails would have been sent to you prior to this period, so they might have gone to the junk/spam folder if not visible in your inbox.

If the account was deactivated, then it wouldn't be possible to recover the account or the files within, unfortunately.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If there's any other information you need, please let me know.
