Dropbox does not recognise the machine I'm working on

Dropbox does not recognise the machine I'm working on

Nahre Knorp
Explorer | Level 4

Every time I sign in on my home PC I get a mail asking me if it was me who signed in. It states I was signing in for the first time. Could that be caused by the fact I remove cookies after each browsing session?

Yes, if you remove cookies Dropbox has no way of knowing it has had a previous successful log in on that device.

Hi @Nahre Knorp, thanks for posting on the Community!

The reason you mentioned is the reason why, since the Dropbox site would use cookies to determine if the current location and device were used to access the site.

By removing the cookies, the Dropbox site wouldn't be able to tell that this was the same device, and so would prompt you with that message.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know!

Hi Jay and Mark,

Since your answers essentially are the same, it will not surprise you that I thank you both for the contribution. I must look into my automatic cookie-cleaner to find out if I can fix it right away, or, maybe have to look for another solution.
