How can I allow U2F sign in only and remove 2FA google Authenticator?

Explorer | Level 4

Hello,

I have multiple secuirty keys added, there's no need for me to have an optional 2FA access. Is there a way to remove 2FA and allow secuirty key access ONLY to my Dropbox account?

Hello @FreeAhma, thanks for checking in with us.

Currently, security keys are only supported on select devices and browsers, so you have to set up two-step verification for your Dropbox account.

This step also makes sure that you have a backup method, in case a device doesn't support your security key.

You can find more information about this, here

Hope this helps!

Thanks @Lusil for the reply, but you're giving advice rather than answering my question. I'm a secuirty expert.

I already have my backup code which I would like it to be my only recovary method. I don't trust 2FAs. My devices and browser fully support U2F. I'm asking: can I disable 2FA OTP entirely and make U2F my only way to sign in?

My plan is to have a single option for singing in(security key), and a single option for recovary(backup code). Can this happen with Dropbox?

Thanks for getting back to me, @FreeAhma

I understand that this may not be the ideal situation for you but, currently, two-step verification must be enabled in order to continue.

If you don't enabled it, the option to add a security key won't appear.

Although this may be the case, you can suggest it as a feature that you'd like to see in the future, here, where others can comment and upvote your idea.

I hope this helps to some extent!
