How can I transfer an account to another user when we don't have the password?

How can I transfer an account to another user when we don't have the password?

New member | Level 2

We had an employee leave the company. Their account was automatically renewed in March. We don't have acces to the password associated with the account. Is there a way to transfer the account to a new employee?

Hi @mccollege, thanks for posting on the Community!

 

Is this account part of a paid Dropbox Business team? If so, the admin can change the email associated with the account from the admin console.

 

If not, and this is a personal account, is the email domain owned by your company? If it is, you can take control of the email address, reset the password to the Dropbox account, and access it that way.
