How to manage photos on Mac and Dropbox account

New member | Level 2
New member | Level 2

I am a relatively new user and am confused as to where exactly my photos are stored and how much disk space is being used.  I automatically downloaded photos to Dropbox from my SD card connected to my MacBook Air.  The photos show up on my Dropbox app on my Mac, they're in Photos also, and they're also in my Dropbox account when I log in to that account.

If I delete photos from Dropbox on my Mac in order to recover disk space, are they also deleted from Photos?  Are they deleted from my Dropbox account?  If I am going to cull through photos to eliminate the less than terrific, should I do this from my Dropbox account?

Thank you.

Hey Dennis

Yes, you're correct. The Dropbox app works as a mirror from your account on the web. If you want to select which folders will be on your harddrive you can use the Selective Sync feature. More info here: http://dropbox.com/help/175
