I bought a HP laptop for my son recently but cannot redeem 25GB with my son's dropbox account. After entering my son's dropbox account information in the popup windows of the preinstalled dropbox app, nothing changes. The storage is about 2.5G. HP promotion didn't say it cannot be used with an exsiting account. And since the popup window disappeared, we even don't know where to claim it with an new dropbox account. To my feeling, this is nothing but a scam, especially compared to the OneDrive promotion got at the same laptop.
