I can't change the email address because I use it with another account.

hi all.. i guess talking to someone is too much to ask so here goes..

i have 2 drop box accounts one that i hardly use and one i use all the time and pay to have more space.

the larger one is attached to an email i no longer have so i need to change it to the the email from the one i never use.. 

how do i do this please? 

i have tried to just change it in settings but as the email i am trying to change it too exists with its own account the computer says NO.

how do i merge the two accounts??

Hi @stevebedlam. Great question! 

When the email address you need is already used for another Dropbox account, you have two options: 

  1. You share the files and file ownership to the paid account. Delete the account associated with your valid email and then change the email. 
  2. Alternatively, you can use a third email to replace the address of your free account. Then you can change the paid accounts email.

I hope this doesn't sound confusing.

Hi Fiona

thanks for getting back to me.. 

i have started to download the stuff in my unused account and will then delete this account and try what you suggested.. 

ill be back if it doesnt work for more advise.
