I didn't get my 100 GB HP promotion for Dropbox

Hello,  

 

I bought a new HP desktop computer 2 days ago. It should have included a year-long promotion with 100 GB included.  

However, after data migration from the old computer, that offer is no longer available. How can I redeem it?

Hey @kresho, let's see what we can do here. 

 

Was the desktop app pre-installed on the device or did you download it? 

 

Also, could it be that you've redeemed the same type of HP promotion already in the past? 

 

You can double-check that from your Plan tab, under Earn more space

Hello Lusil,  

 

The app was preinstalled, but it seems that it was overwritten after a backup restore was made.  I had (an expired) Samsung promotion in 2014.   Hope that helps.

P.S. would a serial number of the new HP computer help?

Just to make sure that we're on the same page, did you restore some files or the system itself? 

 

Did you have to reinstall the desktop app?

 

PS. I'm afraid a serial number in this case wouldn't help me, but we'll see what we can find on this together!

I believe that restore reinstalled the original app and installed the one from old system.

I'm sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to ask if you've ensured that your account and device are meeting the criteria mentioned in the relevant documentation

I believe that I meet all the criteria: I bought a brand new HP computer (october 2020) and I have hever used a HP promotion (I have used Samsung promotion though). 

Hope that clears the doubts.
