Hi there, I am assisting someone with a task that requires me to access a shared folder that exceeds the free account storage space, do I have to upgrade my account to view/access the information? Do you recommend doing a free trial then canceling since I do not need all that extra space/cannot afford to upgrade at this time? I am getting the following message:  Not enough space . To add this folder, you’ll need more space in your Dropbox. Get more space

Do you need access to edit it or just read only? If its edit it then you need the extra space you probably need to do an upgrade. If its just to read then get them to send you a shared only link.

What I would say is if you are going to do a trial be VERY aware that you give enough time to cancel it because the terms are very, very, clear that refunds are not given - so if you miss the cancellation window you'll pay.
