I don't understand how there can be 2 seperate Dropbox accounts under the same email address.

Good day,

I created a dropbox for my work email last year May 2019.

My laptop had to go in for repairs and I created a new folder in my dropbox to save all  my current documents on my laptop, my dropbox was listed by my files and i ensured the new folder was there, thereafter i received my laptop back had to reinstall everything.

i download dropbox, the account i log in to was an account from 2017 which was created by the preivous lady who had worked  on the email for the company.

i have tried every possible password, i do not understand how there can be 2 seperate drop box accounts which obviously have the same email they were created with.

Please help, is there anyway to track an account - i have the complete your set up email which i received when i created the account with the work email address. 

Any help would be greatly appreaciated as i am currently panicing to obtain my work documents!

Hi @Daryan. Thanks for reaching our to get help with this. 

Each email address can only be associated with one Dropbox account. This means we indeed only have one account and if this is the account that was syncing on your desktop, you should be able to see the files you synced in it. 

Is it possible that there is another Dropbox account, with another email address? 

If you are sure you did not have another account, the question now is, was the folder you backed up everything into, in the Dropbox folder? Was the desktop application syncing? Did you see the files being up to date before you gave your laptop to be fixed? 

I see you have created a ticket with our support about this, I added notes to the case and raised the priority. A support agent will soon be in contact with you.
