I have 2 personal accounts with 2 different emails. I want to switch email addresses

I have 2 personal accounts with 2 different emails. I want to switch email addresses and keep the larger free account with the most current email address.  When I tryed to change the email it said the account is taken so I would have to cancel the one I want to use from the smaller storage account and then add.  BUT what if when I try to add after cancelling the software still says account is in use??

Hey @atul302; welcome to our Community!

 

The message you get means that there's already a Dropbox account associated with the email address you'd like to use and since only one email address can be associated with an account, our system won't allow this change.

 

I'm not sure if this would do the trick (and to avoid deleting any account), but could you try these steps and let me know if they helped improve matters for you?
