I have an issue when freeing up space on my account. Any ideas?

I had 7 equal shared files using 2.2GB. I deleted 2 files on all devices to create additional space 48 hours ago. The files have gone but the storage used has not changed . it is still 2.2 GB. If someone Sharing the file still has it in their Dropbox does this count? Is this even possible or offline use?

Hi there, any files in shared folders will take up quota on your account as well as the owner’s account.

Did you delete the files from the site itself, or your computer? If the latter, is the Dropbox desktop application running and being allowed to sync those changes to the site?

Try deleting the file from the website, this should immediately free up the space.

You can also see the breakdown of quota between personal and shared files here, which might explain where the majority of your space is being taken up.

Hope this helps!
