I'm having trouble sending a referral to a friend, any help?

New member | Level 2

I have a personal account and wanted to Invite A Friend to earn more space. I have followed the steps of clicking on the Avatar --- Settings --- Plan --- Invite A Friend. When I click on the Invite A Friend link, it takes me to a page for me to sign up for a new dropbox, requesting my username and password. It does not allow me to plug in my Referral's name and send him an email to sign up. Yet, when you read instructions on this Community forum, it says you would provide the email of the referral, they would receive the email and sign up for an account. If I cannot send them a referral link, how does this work?

Re: Invite A Friend Issue

Dropboxer

Hi @kayso, thanks for posting today!

Are you on a Dropbox Business team or free team? If so, you won't be able to generate referral links as those are only possible for personal accounts, and not work accounts.

You can see if you're on a team by visiting this page on your account.

Hope this helps to clarify matters!
