I'm not able to upgrade my personal plan

I have been trying to upgrade my personal account, but every time I select the "upgrade now" link, it redirects me to a sign in prompt asking my to sign into my previous business account with a prior job, which should be deleted but keeps appearing.  When I select my personal account as the sign in option, it just sircles me back to a prompt to sign into my business acount.  I want to upgrade the storage on my personal account, but it's not letting me, and there are no customer service reps to talk to and the dropox autochat dropbot thing is utterly useless.  I am literally trying to give you money and upgrade, and there is zero pathway to do this or resolve it with a human - and now none of my current work is being synced and shared.  Can I PLEASE get some sort of pathway to resolution - I'm incredibly frustrated, and now beginning to look into other file storage and sharing platforms and considering closing my dropbox altogether.

Hi @Jessa1217, thanks for posting today!


It sounds like you have a personal account paired with a business plan which is now a free team.


You have two choices depending on your needs:

  • You can leave the team using the steps in the above link (or delete it if you’re the admin), making it a personal account and losing the team folder.
  • You can disconnect the personal and free team accounts using the steps here.

After that, you should be able to upgrade your personal account to a paid plan.
