I misspelled my email address when signing up for my account. Can you help?

I misspelled my email address when signing up for my account. Can you help?

Failed to notice spelling error when setting up the account so I cannot verify the email address as it's incorrect! How do I change the email address? Thank you!

Hey there @papaya1 - sorry to hear about this.

If this was a brand new account why not delete it and open a new one under the correct email address?

Note that if you've made a typo when registering for Dropbox, but still remember the password, you can try to log in to your Dropbox account and then immediately change the email address:  https://www.dropbox.com/account

Let me know how this goes so I can send you the most appropriate next steps in this case if needed.

I have a similar problem, I inserted a . between my names so that the verification email does not reach me. I have got round that problem so I use settings to change my address.

This works but when I log off it reverts back to the old email address. I have tried unistalling and downloading again but dropbox immediately recognises this PC. Can you help.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with this @Johnnieboy.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, you're changing your account's email address through your account's settings page - right? 

Can you please clear your browser's cache (or try an incognito window) and give this process another go?

I also entered the incorrect email with a typo. I have tried to change the email address, but I never recive the verification email. In Dropbox it says " pending email change".

Thanks for contacting us and welcome to our Community @emera!

If you already checked your spam folder and added "no-reply@dropbox.com" to your address book, here are other ways to resolve the issue:

  • It's possible that your email service is filtering out messages from Dropbox before they reach your email account. Please contact your email service provider or IT administrator for help.

  • Try changing to a different email address, either an existing one that you have access to or a new one that you create. Hopefully you'll be able to receive the verification email at this alternate address.

Please also note that, as long as you continue to remember the password for your Dropbox account, you can continue to sign in with your old address.

Other than submit an email with takes 3 days or more for reply...how do I "submit a ticket"?
