Log into account when email not accessible and password not known

I have a dropbox plus account that is linked to an old email that was deleted 6 months ago (can no longer access).

Didn't realize this until Dropbox prompted me to upgrade, so I did, entering a new email address. They took my money, but when my old files weren't accessible, they said they couldn't help.

I've read all of the help options however there are no solutions posted. I can't reach anyone on chat, by phone and don't have 72 hours to wait for an email response...

This has happened with other software and I simply provide them with other personal info to allow them to temporarily change my login.

What are my options other than walk away from the old files that Dropbox is now withholding from me?

Hey @ShawnC, thanks for joining us here on the Dropbox Community.

I'm afraid that if you don't have access to either the email or the password for your Dropbox account, there's not much we can do.

Do you happen to have any devices linked to that account? An old computer or mobile device?

Keep me posted.
