Moving Photo files from Dropbox to external storage

My dropbox is full and I do not want to upgrade however I merely need to transfer photo files on to an external hard drive. I cannot move or copy in dropbox because I get the message I have no space available and Dropbox believes I am moving or copying onto another file in Dropbox however I am attempting to move these items off of dropbox. How does one complete this action?

There shouldn't be a trick to it. In Windows (or MacOS, or Linux), just move (or cut and paste) the files out of your Dropbox folder.

I have the same problem, Tim.  I can't move any videos or photos out of Dropbox.  Dropbox keeps telling me I have to upgrade to move my own videos out.  I want to move them to my hard drive or external drive and I don't want more Dropbox space.  Plese help.
