Multiple two-factor devices

Explorer | Level 3

I'd like to have two different two-factor authenticators, so I can use, for example, both Duo and Google Authenticator.  Is this possible?

Hi @LStewart2, thanks for taking the time to message us!

Generally, it isn't recommend to use more than one two-step authentication device for security reasons.

If you wish, you can test it out, though it might disable the original authenticator app, so please have your emergency backup codes ready just in case.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know!

Registering a new 2FA app disables the old one.  I'm not sure you are wrong about multiple active 2FA apps being a disadvantage, but different sites handle this very differently and it is confusing to the user.  Amazon supports multiple systems, Dropbox only one, some sites keep working with a new phone, others do not.
