Need to change my account from a linked company account to a personal account.

Need to change my account from a linked company account to a personal account.

Hi there,

I'm trying to figure out how to change my account from a linked company account to a personal account. I cannot create a personal account because the current account is already using my email. I have no use for a linked company account any more and am not sure how it was created that way in the first place. If it's possible I would love to just delete my account and create a new one so I don't have to make a new email. 

 

Any advice would be helpful,

Hi @DMHFmuffin; thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to our Community!

 

It sounds like you joined a team account with your personal account, probably by accepting an invite from the team's admin. 

 

Could you let me know what's reported on your account's plan tab to ensure we're on the same page?

It says this:

Hi @DMHFmuffin, it looks like you're part of a free team then.

 

To remove yourself from it, just go to the bottom left corner (which shows the team's name), select the button that has the number of members, and click on the ellipsis button next to your name to leave the team.
