Need to get pictures from a Dropbox account that an email address that is not valid anymore

I work at at college and a student used his college email address to create a dropbox account.  Unfortunately, the email address was deleted at the college and can't be created again.  How does he go about changing his deleted college email address to a gmail address?  He needs to get pictures from his Dropbox account as his grandmother passed away due to Covid-19 and wants to retreive the pictures for the service.

He can still log in using the email and password he used then. Once logged in he should be able to change it.

Unfortunately, however, if he does not know the password and he isnt logged in anywhere there is no way, at all, of recovering the account without access to the email address.
