I have run a check on a security app which is telling me that an old email address of mine which is or was linked to Dropbox login has been used/sold on the dark web. I don’t use the old email address but I still have access to it. I have followed the forgotten password pathway on Dropbox, but I am not getting any password reset email through. How do I find out of that email address is still linked to a Dropbox account??
*Edit: I’ve just found out by searching Dropbox on my emails that the account was automatically closed after being inactive for a year.

Case closed.

Hi @Ineedtoknow, thanks for joining the Community!

 

If the account was deactivated, then it wouldn't be possible to login to it any longer, so there shouldn't be any issues with unknown users accessing your old data.
