Hi,

I have a Dropbox basic account and I have just had £95.88 taken from my card.

Please can you advise what has happened and when I should expect a refund?

Thanks

Hi there @ACritchley, thanks for reaching out to us about this.

In general, if you have unidentified Dropbox charges on your credit card, you can look up the email address and payment date associated with it with our credit card charge lookup tool.

In any case, I was able to locate your ticket and I've made sure to get back to you. When you have the chance, please check your inbox for my latest message.

Cheers!

I have a charge of £98.55 on my credit card bill from Dropbox and to my knowledge have not upgraded to a plus account. How can I get this rectified? Thank you.

Hi @Lk17, welcome to the Dropbox Community!

I moved your post under this thread where another user was facing a similar issue.

As mentioned above, if you find any Dropbox charges on your credit card that you don't recognize, you can use our credit card charge lookup tool to find the email address and payment date associated with it.

I do want to help you a bit more on this though, so I've sent you a ticket to the email connected to your Community profile. If you want to have a look into this matter together or you have any other questions, just reply to my email.

Thanks!

Hi there!
Similar situation with me: unauthorised credit card charge from what appears to be Dropbox, December and now January. I have the basic account, and so shouldn't be charged.
I've sent an email to support, but would just like to add to the thread, so that others might see that they are not alone in this event.
No transaction ID visible with mine, so I'm unable to use the credit card charge tool.
Hope to have this sorted out soon!

Is also have a charge of 95.88 thus looks to be a regular thing with Dropbox l!!! Very worrying! I only gave a basic account which is hardly full so why charge me from my bank account???

Dropbox can't charge you unless you've provided them with your billing details. The most common cause is signing up for a trial and then not cancelling it before it automatically changes to a full account. By starting a trial and providing your billing information, you're authorizing Dropbox to charge you. Dropbox simply cannot charge you unless you've given them your billing information.

If you have a charge on your account that you wish to dispute, contact Support.
