Removed all files from my Dropbox folder, and it still says it's over data.

Removed all files from my Dropbox folder, and it still says it's over data.

I have removed all files from my Dropbox folder, and it still says it's over data. How can my account be reset so I can use Dropbox again?

Hey @jenmartinsen. Thanks for reaching out. 

You did the right thing. I understand your Dropbox desktop application is syncing the deletions at the time :arrows_counterclockwise: Please check your Dropbox desktop application status and let me know if this is not the case.

When the desktop reports "Up to date" :white_check_mark: the changes will be synced to the web version of Dropbox. cloud

:rainbow: The full account error message will go away eventually. 

Keep me posted on your syncing process and I will be glad to even create a ticket if the error persists.

Thank you for your message! For some reason there were still files in my Dropbox on the app, although they weren’t showing on my desktop (where I deleted the files over a month ago). Now that I cleared the app files too, it’s syncing again. Thank you!

Just started using dropbox 1/2 an hour ago.  Puzzled at the Dropbox "meaning of words".

Could you please explain the difference between the "Dropbox on the app"  and the "Dropbox on the Desktop?    There is only a shortcut on the Win 10 Start button --->

showing   1)     [  Dropbox  ]   v

                 2)          [ Dropbox ]

                 3)          [ Dropbox Website ]

The above is intended to show what shows up on Start menu.   Does the item in line 2 represent the  Desktop App     or     the   Dropbox on the App ?

The Dropbox desktop application is the app you installed on your computer.

I understand that you might be clicking on the Dropbox icon on your system tray and be redirected to the website, Dropbox.com. The article offered above can help you with your desktop application options. 

As for the Dropbox website, here is an overview of all the things you can do on Dropbox.com

Remember, the Dropbox desktop application synchronises all you do to Dropbox.com and Dropbox.com synchronises everything to your desktop as well. So you have the same files everywhere. :grinning: :white_check_mark:
