See space usage on website

Explorer | Level 4
I manage our team of 50 users that use dropbox and we have two main groups that have separate folders. How can I see how much data each folder without installing the client? We are running into issues with users that have smaller harddrive verses the employees who have larger hard drive, so I need an easy way to show them where all the space is being taking up. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rich

Hey @rich2323,

At the moment this is not supported via the website - downloading the Dropbox app on your machine and syncing your content would be the way to do that.

Thank you.

Out of frustration with the lack of management tools on the dropbox web site, I built a visualisation in Power BI for my personal account using the dropbox API. It provides nice visualisation of space used by folder and optionally file type, and allows drill down to sub folders. IMO this is the type of tool that dropbox should provide "out of the box". I sometimes wonder if dropbox has a preference for NOT providing good space management tools so that users are pressured to upgrade to a paid (or higher paid) account. I use dropbox primarily as web-only and do not sync files to a computer, so using a PC/Mac to manage space used isn't an option for me.

Here's a link to my blog about this ...
