Today I moved the contents of a folder to a new folder and deleted the old folder. Before I did that, my total space used was 1.9 GB - but afterwards the space used had increased to 3.4 GB !! which is well over my limit.
Does anybody have any idea why moving stuff to another folder has nearly doubled the amount of space used ? or what I have done wrong ? I really need help getting my "lost" space back again.

Thanks, Lusil. I checked my Plan and the Dropbox space used is 1.9 GB - so that's a relief !!
But now I'm confused - again The size of the Dropbox folder on my desktop is still 3.53 GB. This is baffling, and I'm not sure whether it's something I should worry about.
I reinstalled the app - thanks, Lusil - and then restarted my laptop. But the desktop folder size is still 3.26 GB.
So I added up all the sizes of the folders in the desktop individually, and the total matches the 1.9 GB space used on Dropbox. Curioser and curioser ...
Perhaps I should empty the desktop folder completely, and then resync - what do you think ?
Thanks, Lusil - will clear the cache first, and follow your instructions carefully. Hope I don't mess things up and lose anything It's fine if you contact me directly by email.
