The verification email is going to a different address than the one registered

The email address I am set up under is not the same as dropbox sends verification. My email address is [personal information removed for security purposes by Moderator]. This is the address that dropbox shows but it sends the verification to [personal information removed for security purposes by Moderator] (no dot after don) So I can not get email verification and cannot share files.

Dropbox will not allow me to edit my email address since it is already registered.

My IT person added the email address without the "." to my email service so now I receive email from don.millitello and donmillitello. With this ability I am now communicating with Dropbox and it appears I can now share files.

Hi @donmillitello; welcome to the Community and happy Monday!

 

From the sounds of it, you must have a Dropbox account associated with both email addresses. Could you check if that's the case by trying the login using the email address you're getting an error that is already in use when trying to change your current email address? 

 

To do so, try logging into the account via an incognito window and if you don't remember the password, try to reset it usig the following link:
