Two accounts with two adresses

Hello, I have two private accounts with two adresses. These adresses are similar, though one is a hotmail and the other is a gmail adress. Since it is not possible to merge these two I have uploaded all documents to one of the two adresses. So now I want to delete the empty one. But I am so afraid that both will be deleted, since a pop up shows up, showing the account I want to keep, despite I am logged in in the other one?!? Help! I need to solve this, because somehow it is not possible tot download the right account on my desk top (the hotmail one).

Have you tried unlinking the account you'll be dropping through the app's preferences and then linking the one you'll be keeping?
