Video streaming - subscription type

Video streaming - subscription type

New member | Level 2

Dear all,

for our online seminars I would like to provide the recorded Zoom-Videos via a Link on Dropbox.

For me it's not clear:

1) which subscription type I need for creating streaming links and

2) does everyone, I am sharing the link with, need a paid-version of the dropbox account?

Thanks for help!

Hi @svsdvd, thanks for messaging the Community!

It sounds like you're interested in sharing links to recorded Zoom videos. This can be done on any plan, as shared links are a feature for Dropbox.

Paid plans do offer more features on shared links, like passwords, expiry dates, and more bandwidth to share files, so it depends on your requirements.

Bear in mind as well the amount of time a video can be previewed for on the site via a shared link.

Let me know if your requirement any more information!

Hi @Jay, thanks for your quick reply!

Yes this is exactly what we want to do. So that means as long the video is not longer than 4hours, everyone can watch without having a dropbox account and we can prevent that someone will download it. I guess, I can upload as many 4h videos as I want and it's then just a matter of how big my storage place is at dropbox, right? Seminars will last sometimes up to 1week.

Thanks!

Yes, it sounds like you'll need a Dropbox Business plan if you intend for there to be videos previewable up to 4 hours long, and to disable downloads for the videos, along with expiry dates.

Bear in mind that you'll need to purchase a minimum of 3 licenses to set up a Dropbox Business team.
