What is the optimal account solution for me?

New member | Level 2

Hi,

I work with a group of youth and we need a cloud storage and collaboration tool. I'm wondering if its possible for me to buy a Dropbox professional account, then add their account as a team, will they have access to files and docs even though they dont have paid storage?

In other words, will Dropbox Professional make it possible for me to host cloud storage for members with Dropbox Basic(free) account?

Thanks!

Oskar

Hi @Oskoskosk, thanks for joining the Community!

Currently, only a Dropbox Business plan would allow the kind of collaboration you’re looking for to share files with others, since it has a shared quota pool. It isn’t possible to share your Dropbox Professional quota with other users, it’s only for your account.

However, you will be able to share links to folders for a one-way, read-only access to them so others can view and download files.

If you need them to upload files to your account, you could easily add a file request which doesn’t require a Dropbox account for them.

Hope this helps to clarify matters!
