Where are emails archives?

New member | Level 1

I shared a file with a client from Dropbox and included a message when sending the link to that person.  So I am trying to find the message that I sent to verify a date and can't find the email text.

Dropbox doesn't archive emails it sends out on your behalf I'm afraid.

This is not good, you must have a copy of any email for future reference.  This is a must have feature, how could Dropbox allow this to take place within their programming?

Com'on Man! it is basic business 101! We need a record of our transactions! I don't think I can use dropbox anymore.

They are only notifications, I see no need for a copy of a notification. If you do, save the copy you get - set up a rule in your mail program to sort them all to a folder for safe keeping. I have them going to a folder, but purge/delete monthly.

So send the links via your own email client.

It also means the recipient is more likely to read/accept as it wont look like spam.

If you dont want to use Dropbox any more you can close your account/stop billing etc. if needed at www.dropbox.com/account and www.dropbox.com/plans

Thanks for the great advice Mark Mc. With an attitude like yours I think I will close my account. Why would I want to do business with an organization as condescending as you present yourself.

TG, now  you know that "Mark Mc" is not a dropboxer.

It isnt intended to be condescending at all.

I've had mega issues with sending things via Dropbox emails (especially to business emails which block them frequently) so never ever use the website any more.

In terms of the close account etc. again thats from people on here assuming that the payments are one off. It was intended to be helpful as you are on a subscription service - one with no refunds. So, if you do want to do as you said and close the account thats what you need to do or, at next renewal, you will pay more money for a service you dont want.
