Why am I seeing different folder sizes on my computer and website?

Explorer | Level 3

Hi there,

The size of the file in my dropbox folder in around 3-4 GB. However, when seeing the general tab in the setting in the dropbox web, it tells me that I have 18 GB stored in dropbox. Please note that I have no files which is only online (all my files are both on my hard drive as well as dropbox web). Can some one explain me what the problem is?

Thanks

Hey there @hamid_moeenfard

As a first step, could you check if you have the latest stable version installed (75.4.142) on your computer by hovering over your Dropbox icon that’s next to your device’s clock?

Please remember that a beta version can be recognized by a xx.3.xx, instead of the xx.4.xx. If you’re on a beta build, it means that you have opted in to Early Releases in your online account settings.

If you do have the stable version installed, could you please check that you don’t have any:
If you’re still having trouble despite these steps, could you please send me a screenshot (without any personal info) of what the Dropbox icon reads when you hover over it?

Let me know of any updates!
