Why ask me to set up your separate personal Dropbox?

i have a personal account in dropbox and follow an invitation to join a family plan, but it directs me to set up your separate personal dropbox account! Why it works like this? I have an account!!!!!!

Easy - because your account now becomes part of the family plan with admin rights/control over it. For lots of people they also want a 'private' account not controlled by others. Hence the second one.
