Why did I lose earned space after downgrading plans?

Why did I lose earned space after downgrading plans?

Before downgrading back to a basic plan I first verified with customer support and the community forum both of whom stated I would not lose any of my earned storage space. And yet, I'm now seeing that I currently have 20.5GB whereas before I had earned 36.5GB. Please help me understand why I have lost earned storage space even after twice confirming this would not happen.

Hey @neoarchitect4, I hope you're having a good week so far!

 

While you won't lose any of the referrals or promotions that you've redeemed on your account, referrals give a different amount of space on different plans.

 

On a Basic plan, a referral grants you 500 MB of space while the Plus plan grants you 1 GB of space. You can check out more info on this here.

 

While the referrals themselves will stay with your account, the space earned is double with the Plus plan. This should explain the difference that you see in the earned space there.
