Why do I have to pay for more space to share? How can I unshare?

New member | Level 2

My account has reached it's limit.  I only have 600K files.  1.7GB has been share to me.  A) why am I being charged to receive a share?

B) I can't seem to find an option to unshare directories.  Is the "Delete" on the share the  equivilent of remove the share?  I don't want to delete the contents from the owner of the data.

A) If the files exist in your account, then they count against your storage quota. It doesn't matter who the owner of those files is, nor where the share originated.

B) If you delete files within the share they will be deleted for everyone. What you want to do instead is remove the share. There are two methods depending on what your goal is (temporary removal or permanent).
