I've had a basic Dropbox account for years, used to share files between family and friends. I had to go retrive some files recently only to find my entire account was gone! Randomly deleted!! All files totally lost forever!!! I've been trying to get in touch with support which apparently doesn't exist! Anyone else have or hear of this problem? Anyone know how to get actual help from Dropbox?

Hello @user1205, I'd be more than happy to help look into this with you!

Since every account is associated with a unique email address, could it be that you signed in on to a different/new one? 

You can check which one you used to log in to the current one, by going to your General tab

If you've made sure that it's the right one, could you let me know if you remember the last time you accessed and used the account in question?

Ah, I see, thanks for clarifying that for me, @user1205

Generally, if you haven't had any activity in your account over the last 12 months, that's determined as an inactive account. 

You can find more information about this, here

However, you can always reach out to our team for more info on the matter via this link from an incognito window (without signing in). 

Once you do, let me know the ticket ID (eg. #1234567) so that I can pass your comments along.

I was able to create a ticket, Ticket #11976839.

It was indeed super tricky to find this option on the website.

@Lusil I got your email and have replied. However, I received an auto generated confirmation stating the email when to an unmonitored email address ( support@dropbox.zendesk.com ). Does that sound correct?

You can reply at http://dropbox.zendesk.com if needed 🙂

 

You will need to do a password reset for it though as its a diff system
