complicated problem: Have 2 accounts, cannot get into second

For years I successfully used 2 Dropbox accounts - now cannot log into one of them.  One is firstname.lastname@gmail.com, second is under firstname.lastname+xxx@gmail.com.  When I try to enter the second one, it logs into the first now.

 

When I try to reset password (tried on both emails), it resets only firstname.lastname@gmail.  I still have a computer actively syncing to the big account (+xxx) and cannot log into it. If /when I finally get in I plan to move all files into one and merge them.

 

I have not found any way to contact the Dropbox team. Can anyone help with this?

Hi @RobinDb, thanks for messaging the Community!

 

If you have two different emails, then they would be linked to two separate Dropbox accounts.

 

For Google accounts, resetting the password for the +xxx account would send the reset to the normal account, since for Gmail, both emails go to the same inbox.

 

The best way to attempt to login to the +xxx account is to open an incognito/private browsing window, to ensure that the browser isn’t automatically logging into the normal account.

THank you! That worked. Now i'll have to figure out how to move the contents of one to the other....Or, having solve this, just leave it as is....MUCH APPRECIATED.

You can try the steps here to move files between the accounts, if you wish, so you don't have your files split up across two accounts.

While it isn't possible to automatically merge two Dropbox accounts, it can be done manually by following the steps here.
