"Box Inc." versus Dropbox: A possible scam

New member | Level 2

Hello. On April 14th a company called "Box, Inc." billed my credit card for $99.95. I assumed it was my Dropbox annual renewal, which was due about that time. But then on May 2 the real Dropbox billed my card for $131.84, which I recognize is my new annual rate.

This is an enquiry about the Box, Inc. billing. I've never heard of them before or signed up for anything, have no idea why they are billing me or how they got my credit card info. I've written them to enquire, but I kind of doubt I'll get an answer. I suspect a scam.

Has anyone ever heard of this other company or of this happening before?

Thanks!

Thank you. You are correct and I was wrong. It's been ten years since I used this account, so I'd forgotten what it was. But they got

back to me and everything is cleared up properly now. Thanks again.

Box, Inc. operates Box, another popular cloud storage/sync service. If you're being billed by the actual company, it's unlikely to be a scam. It would be best if you posted this on their own support site.
