Referred a friend but my friend forgot to click the referral link to register. Can I still get the referral bonus by contacting the dropbox support?

I'm afraid that the only way for you to receive the referral bonus is by the user in question signing up via your invitation.
Could you ask them to check if they created an account with the same email address as the one you sent the referral to?

Yes my friend used the email address that I invited but didn't create thru the link though.
In that case, there's not much we can do since the Dropbox account now exists with that email address.

But my friend registered to dropbox box right after I sent her the invitation email meaning if you see the timestamp basically it makes sense logically. I guess there is no consideration for situations like this? Then I guess she can just cancel her current registration and reregister again by clicking the link and subscribe? Will that going to work?
I'd recommend that the best alternative would be to send a new invitation to another email of theirs.
However, I'm more than happy to send you a ticket to have a better look into this, if you'd like.
