My Dropbox, which I use for personal purposes, is still connected with a job I no longer have, but using my personal email address. Can I change it back into a personal account so that I can upgrade it?

If you're referring to a Dropbox Business account, you'll need to contact the team admin for the account and ask them to convert your account back to an individual account.

 

It's very important that they not just remove you from the team. If they do, your account would be deleted, and they would only have 7 days to restore it if necessary. They need to convert it to an individual account following the link posted above.

On top of what @Rich said, if you're on a free team and not a paid Dropbox Business team, you can try leaving it using the steps here.
