Dropbox Staff

Thanks for using Dropbox! The desktop client is regularly updated with improvements and fixes.

Features in this update:

  • Users without any external drive backups will now see a “How to” footer in the Backup setting of the desktop app.
  • Users on the Dropbox Backup plan with multiple active computer or external drive backups will now have a menu option to choose which backup to assign unlimited storage.
  • Users will now be directed to Why can’t I create a shared folder? in the Shared Folder FAQs after clicking More Info when given a Total Mounts Exceeding Limit, Tree Size Exceeding Limit, or Home Mounts Exceeding Limit error while attempting to share a folder.

Fixes in this update:

  • A faulty border in the checkout navigation bar has been removed.
  • Some users will now see an extra carousel slide with messaging regarding restricted folder locations.
  • For the File Provider beta, package files (.pages, .key, etc.) will no longer appear as corrupted when opened through their respective apps.
